Photography fascinates me in the ability it gives us to witness a place, an era, a moment. The camera captures a moment and seems to freeze it in time and yet the photograph will never be the same. The interpretation that we make of it, the emotions that it releases, our judgment on the image evolve with time.
Like literature, photography provides us with the plot, a base from which we can compose with its elements, give free rein to our imagination to recompose the frame, the off-frame, the story that is written around it. The way each one receives it, feels the pattern, are as strong as the pattern itself, and can be rewritten endlessly. Your story interests me in many ways and my 18 years of experience allows me a great flexibility to realize your project.
In spite of the diversity of the projects I realize, I do not change anything in my approach. The human being remains at the heart of my approach and it is always a question of the message to be conveyed and to touch the person who will receive the image. If it works, then it's mission accomplished. The success of a photograph depends on several factors. I know I have good images when I can convey a clear message, the energy and authenticity of the subject.
Basically, there is little difference between the eye of a photographer and that of a painter or filmmaker. Each of these image makers is sensitive to composition, light, mood and the value of the message they wish to convey. My sensitivity to art thus nourishes my practice of photography day after day.
