Ferry Tale

Location: Portland
The Casco Bay Lines, which provides a daily sea link between Portland, Maine and the surrounding islands, allows islanders to get to work, school, visit family and friends, and carry bulky purchases. When the weather is fine, the deck of this unusual bus looks like a cruise ship... unlike any other.
It's summer, the sea is beautiful and it's easy to be lulled by the waves. As many stories as there are passengers. Fleeting moments, smiling exchanges. I guess more than I board, but the brightness of the smiles and the sparkle of the glances are enough for me. The crossing is short, the quay approaches and everyone goes back to their day after this maritime interlude.
As a spectator of these few scenes of local life, I have just touched a certain idea of happiness.
