Subject: The author and his publisher chose me to create the art direction for this book cover. The idea was to represent the duality of the main character's life in this autobiographical novel. I chose black & white from the outset, so that the visual focus would be solely on the expression of my subject and the quasi-graphic composition born of the superimposition of the veil and my model's hair.
